Unable to Validate Login or User Already Logged In

Summary

This article will explain the steps to get past the error message 'Unable to Validate Login or User Already Logged In' when trying to log in to TempWizardTM.
If you are presented with the below error message when attempting to log in to TempWizardTM, this indicates one of two conditions.

1. You are using the incorrect credentials. Please verify that you are using the correct user name and password. (These are NOT case sensitive like the Web Interface account.)

Or…

2. Your user account is still logged in to TempWizardTM. (There are various situations that can cause this. Two of the most common are: 1) You were logged in and lost your internet connection. 2) You were logged in and used the small x in the upper right-hand corner to Exit the program instead of using the EXIT button.)

You can resolve the first by using the correct credentials. If it is the second condition and your account is locked in, you can disconnect via the following steps:

NOTE: To do this, you will need to use one of the two built in 'Admin' and 'Help' user accounts to log in and clear the connection. (This document assumes that you have one of those accounts or another user that can log in who has utility security access. Access to those accounts is controlled by your internal company's policies; BWSI does not distribute that information.)

Begin by logging in to TempWizardTM with one of the user accounts mentioned above. Once you are logged in, go to the Utilities menu and select the Show Users On TempWizardTM utility.

Once open, the utility will look like this:

It will display a list of the currently logged in users and whether they are truly logged in or locked in a stuck session.

To clear the locked user(s), (we will use David for our example) simply click on to select the user you wish to clear. It will highlight in bold navy blue as below.

Once the user is selected, simply click the Disconnect button.

You will be presented with the following confirmation dialogue box. Simply click the YES button.

Now the user is no longer on the list so you can close the utility and advise the user to log in.

NOTE: If one of the built in accounts was using 'ADMIN' or 'HELP', you must now immediately log out of TempWizardTM and log in with your valid user account. If you were clearing your own user session, simply log out and log back in with your account, etc. The reason for this is that these are not true user accounts in TempWizardTM and should not be used to process actual transactions or make changes in the program.
